Event Bartenders in OKC
Event bartending is professional bar service for a private event — a birthday, graduation, anniversary, holiday party or backyard gathering — where licensed bartenders run the bar so the host does not have to. The Walters provides event bartenders across OKC and the wider Oklahoma City metro, including Edmond, Norman, Moore and Yukon.
Birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, holiday parties, backyard gatherings — if people are coming over and someone needs to be behind the bar, that’s us. You buy the alcohol at retail; we bring everything else.
Every kind of party
we bartend.
Licensed · Insured · Dry-hireBirthdays & milestones
Thirtieth, fiftieth, sixtieth — the ones worth doing properly. A real bar, a menu built around the guest of honor, and someone else pouring.
Graduations
May and December fill up fast in OKC. We staff the adult bar so the party works for every generation in the backyard at once.
Anniversaries & engagement parties
Smaller than a wedding, and often more personal. Champagne service, a couple of signature drinks, and a bar that looks like it belongs.
Holiday & seasonal parties
December books earliest of any month we work. Mulled and spiced menus, zero-proof options for the drivers, and a bartender who keeps the line short.
Backyard & block parties
No venue, no problem — we bring the bar, the tools and the setup. Popular across Edmond, Moore, Norman and the OKC suburbs.
Reunions & retirements
Family reunions, class reunions, send-offs. Long guest lists, wide taste ranges, and a bar that has to keep moving all afternoon.

at your place.
The same base service behind every event we run in OKC, whether it’s twenty people in a backyard or three hundred in a hall. Add to it as your event needs.

Why hosts call us
The reasons that come up most often when someone books an event bartender.
The single reason most people call us. At your own party you should be talking to people, not opening bottles, hunting for ice or washing glasses at midnight.
Twenty people in a backyard or three hundred in a hall — we staff to your guest count rather than selling you a fixed package you have to grow into.
Every event we run is dry-hire: you purchase at retail with no markup, from a shopping list we build for your guest count, and every unopened bottle stays yours.
Our bartenders hold Oklahoma’s Event Bartender license through the ABLE Commission, and The Walters carries liquor liability and general liability insurance — which venues, halls and some HOAs will ask to see.
We arrive early, build the bar, and leave the space cleaner than we found it. The end of your party is not the start of your evening’s work.
Designated drivers, guests who do not drink, and anyone under 21 get a proper menu — not a warm two-liter bottle on the end of the table.

Questions,
answered.
What does an event bartender do?
Event bartending is professional bar service for a private event — a birthday, graduation, anniversary, holiday party or backyard gathering — where licensed bartenders run the bar so the host does not have to. The Walters provides event bartenders across OKC and the wider Oklahoma City metro, including Edmond, Norman, Moore and Yukon.
How do I hire an event bartender in OKC?
Request a quote with your date, location and guest count. We confirm availability, build a bar plan and drink menu around your event, and send an alcohol shopping list so you can buy at your convenience beforehand. The Walters serves OKC and the surrounding metro.
How many bartenders do I need for my party?
As a rule of thumb, one bartender per 75 guests, and closer to one per 50 if you want a cocktail-heavy bar rather than mostly beer and wine. One professional bartender is included in the base service and additional bartenders are available — we will recommend a number when we see your guest count and menu.
Can you bartend a small party, or is there a minimum?
We bartend small private events as well as large ones. The base service is the same shape whatever the size: one professional bartender, 30 minutes of setup, five hours of service, 30 minutes of cleanup, and travel included up to 20 miles beyond Central Oklahoma City.
Do you bring a bar, or do I need one?
You do not need one. A portable bar is available as an add-on, along with ice, mixers, garnishes, cups, glassware and coolers. If your venue already has a built-in bar, we will simply staff and run that instead.
Can you bartend a backyard party or an outdoor event?
Yes — backyard and outdoor events are a large share of the private parties we work across the OKC metro. We bring the bar, tools, and setup, and we plan ice and chilling around the weather and the length of your event.
Do I have to buy the alcohol myself?
Yes, and it works in your favor. In Oklahoma, mobile bar companies cannot sell alcohol, so every event bar here runs dry-hire: you buy at retail with no markup from a list we build for your guest count, and whatever is left at the end of the night is yours to keep.
Do you only do weddings?
No. Weddings are a large part of what we do, but The Walters bartends birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, holiday parties, reunions, retirements and backyard gatherings across the Oklahoma City metro, plus corporate events and annual bar packages for companies.
Which areas around Oklahoma City do you cover?
The Walters serves OKC and the surrounding metro — Oklahoma City, Edmond, Norman, Moore, Yukon, Mustang, Midwest City, Del City and nearby communities — with travel included up to 20 miles beyond Central Oklahoma City. Farther out, just ask.
How far in advance should I book an event bartender?
Earlier is better, especially for December holiday parties and May graduation weekends, which are the two periods that fill first. If your date is close, still ask — we will tell you straight away whether we can cover it.
